THE MOUSE
„Kiss me” said The Mouse.
“Why shall I?” asked The Bat “you are just little ugly mouse. Look at yourself” he said as he took her by the pound “you have small ears, tiny nose and black, sad eyes. You don’t even have wings to fly”.
“I can hear a cat from a distance” said The Mouse “I can smell all the smells of the world with my nose, you could make my eyes smile again. And I do have wings deep inside of me. Your love will make me spread them”
“Don’t be ridiculous, you believe in stories” answered The Bat and he flew away.
The Mouse looked on herself in water, touched the surface with her nose and her reflection disappeared in thousands of circles. And for the moment The Mouse could see she had beautiful, black, silky wings. Then understood what she had to do to reach the happiness.
The summer came with hot, dry days and steamy nights full of sparkling stars. The Bat was having a walk when he saw little Mouse. In astonishment he noticed she really has wings as she wasn’t Mouse anymore; she was a Bat. But it was too late as she was only white bones lying in a dried sand.
